Pre-Inked Stamp Ink

If you're a stamp owner, it is *extremely important* to know the difference between rubber stamp ink and pre-inked stamp ink. Regular ink pads for hand stamps and self-inking stamps sold at Acorn all use Regular Rubber Stamp Ink. Acorn's Pre-inked stamps - which include Slim, SuperSlims, Xstamper, PSI and MaxLight stamps- require an ink specifically formulated for pre-inked stamps. Scroll down to the bottom of the page learn some tips and see a video tutorial of how to re-ink your pre-inked stamp!

Maxlight/Slim Ink

Make sure that you are selecting the right type of ink when you are purchasing a refill bottle of ink for your MaxLight, Slim or Xstamper stamp. An incorrect ink formula can cause permanent damage to your stamp that is NOT covered by product warranties. If you are unsure about which type of ink will work best for your stamp, please give us a call or send an email. Since packaging of stamp inks can look so similar, we suggest contacting us before even finalizing your order.

Pre-Inked Stamp Refill Instructions

Unlike self-inking stamps where re-inking your stamp is straight-forward and similar regardless of the model you have, pre-inked stamp inkwells are found in different locations depending on what model and brand of stamp you own. A majority of pre-inked stamps give their users access to their inkwells from the handle or top of the stamp. If you ever need assistance or have any questions or concerns regarding the type or application of ink for your pre-inked stamp, contact us!

We offer customer support unparallel to any other vendor online and will assist you with your pre-inked products for as long as you own them - guaranteed. We are always happy to help you. Should you accidentally purchase or add the incorrect amount of ink to your stamp, there is a change that we may be able to help. If the incorrect type of ink is added to a stamp, the rubber dies may warp and swell and the built-ink inkwells and pads may gum up which will not allow you to receive a crisp and clean impression. A good rule of thumb to go by is to use only water-based inks when refilling Self-Inking stamps, and oil-based inks when refilling pre-inked stamps.
